Plante annuelle, assez mollement velue ; tige de 10-40 cm, simple ou rameuse, dressée ou ascendante ;
Écologie : (répartition d'après la flore) Champs et moissons, dans toute la France.
Répartition hors de France : Europe méridionale et centrale jusqu'à la Suède ; Asie occidentale.

A rather slender, hairy, almost simple or bushy annual 15-30 cm high, with white sap.
Ecology UK: (distribution according to flora) It is an uncommon plant of light, cultivated and waste ground throughout lowland Britain.

Fleurs : rouge clair, assez petites ; sépales peu velus ; filets des étamines épaissis dans le haut ; stigmates 4-6, sur un disque sinué, non lobé ;
